Rear Defroster on vert

On my vert, If i hit the button for my rear defroster, the light on the button comes on, but it does not seem to work as far as defrosting my rear window. Whats something to check?

check to make sure both contacts and leads are connected to the window itself. If they are, disconnect them and put a DVOM between the two leads and check for power, when he button is pushed in.

If you have power, suspect the tracers on the window are bad. If you dont have power, check your fuses, then suspect your wiring.

Alright, well there is nothing going to my rear window..that explains why it isnt working..there is no prongs or nothing on it. Who knows where the wires are at...Is there one of those things I can buy for the window somewhere?

ok, so your back glass does not have the metal prongs on it that the connectors attach to? and you don't have connectors/wiring coming out of your interior trim panel? The panel that your coat hangers are screwed to, is there a little notch in the plastic right up next to the back glass?

I just checked with my friend but I don't think convertibles came with rear defrost. Do you have the black lines going across your back window? I know the yellow guy up above has it on his 99-04 car but maybe the 94-98 verts didn't have it.

I have a factory switch for rear defrost, and there is lines..but someone told me that since my rear window is tinited, they probably took it off, because the rear defroster will make the tint peel off

I have tint on both of my Cobras which have factory installed rear defrost; never had a problem with the tint coming loose if its done properly by the tint installer.
