what's my car worth?
I'm tossing around the idea of selling my 1995 cobra (#1427) to possibly step up to an 03/04 Cobra. The idea of actually putting it up for sale scares me a little bit so I'm going to just get a rough idea of what I could ask for it/get out of it. I know what I bought it for and what i have in it but i know that doesn't necessarily reflect what it's worth now. A few details...
NOTE: I have receipts/paperwork for ALL of the parts/work done on this car! The car has a 100% clean title. It is in storage right now for the winter. 1995 Mustang Cobra Coupe #1427. 98k miles Body: It was repainted in roughly 2 1/2 years ago to the stock black. It has a Cobra R hood with snorkels, i've never seen another hood like it. The rear of the car has 96-98 taillights and 96-98 bumper cover with SS inserts (with stock crabclaw wing). Front headlights are the black style AM headlights with 55W 6000k DDM tuning HIDs. The body has very few flaws and always turns heads. I have only entered the car in one carshow (decent in size) and I won 1 of 2 best of show newer than 1985. Driveline: It is the original motor to the car with ported AFR 165cc heads, Comp Cam XE266HR cam, stock upper and lower cobra intake powder-coated chrome. Has most of the typical bolt ons, pulleys, 3 core radiator etc. The headers are brand new (less than 1000 miles) BBK shorty headers, Bassani O/R X, with full Borla XR-1 exhaust. Sounds very mean with the cam. Fairly recently rebuilt T5 with Pro5.0 shifter, centerforce dual friction clutch. FRPP aluminum driveshaft with FRPP 3:73 gears which turn 285/35/18 Nitto Extreme NT555R's on the front and 245/35/18 Nittos on the front. Wheels are very clean FR500's. Suspension: The car has a very stout suspension under it and handles like it's on rails to be blunt. It has a Roush suspension kit that includes front Bilstein shocks, struts, and sway bar. Rear Bilstein shocks, coils, control arms, and sway bar. I have a receipt for this as well, the kit was installed by a shop before I owned the car and was not a cheap kit. Interior: The front seats in this car are in fairly nice condition, i would say 8/10 and the rear seats are at least 9/10. The floors are clean and I always vacuum them out if they even get visually dirty. The dash is perfect, all gauges work, power windows and door locks work perfect. The car has a two way alarm system that is VERY useful. Overall: This is a very clean true 1995 cobra with a lot of top of the line parts. I cannot think of any negatives to say about the car at this time. Please ask questions if need be, i'm looking to get a good price range to ask for my car. Thanks! ![]() ![]() note: since this picture was taken i've changed several things including MSD wires, cap, and coil. The chrome upper rad hose is now gone due to not fitting the 3 core radiator. Brand new Duralast Gold battery as well. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Not a bad looking Cobra. A few things visually I would change though and because it just doesn't look right. First, the 245 wide front tires and the fact that it makes the front end gap look larger than it really is-----too narrow, the stock size was 255 and even that was too narrow for me.
Second thing; what is going on with the coolant hose coming off your oil cooler? Looks like someone got a little happy with chrome corrugated tubing or something. It looks tacky especially since you don't have the chrome upper radiator hose anymore. How is your computer responding to the mass air meter being connected directly to the throttle body? The best place for it would probably be in the fenderwell. Any issues with paint chipping off the front bumper from normal driving? How many miles were put on it since the paint job? On a Cobra the things that make it special and that I would be looking for are the lower radiator hose (has COBRA stamped on it in white) the floor mats (says COBRA down the edges) and any leaks or overheating. How does the trans shift? What kind of clutch is in it? So far its looking like its in the $8k range.

$5 now sell it to me
![]() In all seriousness, it is very nice looking Cobra and looks well cared for. If you find the right buyer, you could easily get $10000 for it, if you have documentation. Only thing hurting you is the mileage and mods, it isn't bad but collector's like the mileage alot lower. Good luck with the sale if you decide to sell it.
