It's not that hard but if you mess up the tune on a supercharged engine, you could end up with a dangerously lean condition that'll melt pistons. AdderMk2 was just simply giving you good advice so it's in your best interest to listen to it.
Just to summarize: 255lph fuel pump, 36lb injectors (42's are also OK), a tune (preferably by a professional), and ditch the FMU.
If you still insist on doing the tune yourself, make sure you install a wideband O2 sensor before you start. It's better to err on the side of being too rich and be conservative with the timing when you make your initial tune.

they are incomplete, and hardly relevant to anything you would build.

You have much to learn young one.... get it tuned by a professional

Like Bullit said, tuning a blower is way too easy to mess up, if you wanna learn how to tune you should start with a NA car No one is saying your dumb, But you dont have the knowledge of know what to tune to make it work. Tuning is extremely complex and indepth. It takes lots of time to learn. You need to learn the principals of tuning, then the tuner you plan to use and finally know how the car your tuning likes to run. Most tuning companies have classes for their tuners to teach them how their tuners work.

Well I plan to do many things to the car. Everything requires a tune and I don't want to be paying out the ass for tunes every time I change the oil lol. It seems like everything needs a tune.

The best bet is to do minor mods right now. Unless you add H/C/I or a blower you don't need to tune the car. Tunes you get in the mail are a shot in the dark. Blower cars are especially sensitive. Once you get a shop to do an initial tune with a hand held tuner you can ask some tuners to show you how it works and explain the functions. Each time you take it to the dyno after that ask the tuner to let you tune it while he watches. You have to crawl before you walk.

Read the post your moron. I told him to take it to someone to have it done then have them show him how to use it. With the money he has he can find a basic AFM PMS unit used for the same price a one of these mail order tunes. I used one for years on my 96 S-351. Worked great till I went past 700 rwhp. Then I upgraded to the FAST system. As for the 4.6 forum reference GFY... I only own 1 mod motor car.

Not everything. I've done all the basic bolt-on mods, added an Edelbrock intake, and ported the stock heads. All I needed was an upgraded fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator (set at 45psi), and advanced the timing to 12 degrees. I still have the stock tune. You could probably upgrade the heads and still run the stock tune as long as you upgrade to 24lb/hr injectors and a calibrated MAF.
A tune becomes essential when you upgrade the cam (altered valve events) or add forced induction.
For the latter you don't want to be messing with a mail order tune. You need a custom tune that's optimum for YOUR set-up. Unless you're expert with a handheld tuner and have a wideband O2 sensor to get precise A/F ratio readings, leave this job to professionals. s351r13 gave a very good suggestion about you learning how to do the tune from the pros. Once you get the hang of it and gain in confidence, you can do more of the functions yourself. I can understand you wanting to save money but ask yourself if it's really worth running the risk of engine damage if you get the tune wrong. There's very little margin for error when you add forced induction.

its out dated, out classed, and has been completely out done by its competition.

you cant even adjust your maf transfer with that piece of shit.

Thanks guys. I can't make up my mind about forced induction. It sounds like it is too much difficulty for me to do it at this point in my life. I may just settle with heads and cam. I appreciate you guys helping me. I hope my questions don't get annoying. I am just trying to learn. Thanks

It was simply an example. It's a basic system that isn't hard to use. Yeah, its dated technology and there is better out there. Maybe instead of bashing everyones suggestions you could contribute instead of coming off as a complete know it all jackass.

No problem. It only becomes annoying when people ask for advice and then choose to ignore it but you seem to have a wise head on your shoulders.
Doing heads/cam/intake first is a good strategy. If you're still going to add forced induction later on, you don't need to go crazy with the H/C/I and remember that the stock block can only take so much HP anyway.
Decide what your performance goal is going to be and we'll guide you in that direction. It's better to plan ahead so you only buy parts once.
