hope it has an aftermarket block

I have no idea what a DZ 331 Stroker Block is but I bet he has the money spent in all the right places if he spent 60k on stang mods.

jesus, only $10k? I wonder who he owed money to that he couldn't pay up lol.......
all of that money spent and attention to detail and they forgot to paint or at least clean up the grounding area around the ignition coil----its got a coating of surface rust.
I wonder if they had to repair the paint underneath all those emblems that they changed before applying the new ones because of the adhesive used.....

Something doesn't add up with the advert. In the link Turbo Connection the owner's claiming 750hp, TW heads, and Lentech AOD transmission whereas in Craiglist, he's claiming 650hp, Dart heads, and a C6 transmission. Even the 650hp claim sounds ridiculously high for a blown 331 backed up by an automatic.
It's a very nice-looking car but the real question is why would someone who's spent over $60,000 want to sell it for just $10,000? I smell a money pit.

It's at a dealership in town not a private seller. Don’t get me wrong the dealership may be inflating the HP number maybe by 100 or maybe not, who knows. I might go check it out today and who knows, I might buy it. I can flip that car for at least 16K easy if the mods add up and it is in good order.

I can't stand guys with that kind of attitude. Takes away from the whole feeling of owning a Mustang and just makes you look greedy.

Whatever man, its called buisness. Does buying and fliping a house take away from being a home owner? No, it is a smart buisness investment that helps you fund your own project. I dont see how thats a bad aditude. I own 2 mustangs 99 and 07. My 99 was my first car and I will never sell it so dont tell me about pride in being a stang owner because I am just as loyal if not more loyal than most.

Customizing cars does not add to resale value. $60,000 in parts for this dude does't mean that a buyer is willing to pay for the work and parts. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Mmmm, that's interesting. Regardless of the true HP number I think it's worth checking out that car to see what's really in it and take it for a test drive.
I'm still suspicious about the previous owner's motive for selling it but there might have been a genuine reason e.g. needed the cash to pay off debt, in which case the car could be a bargain. Whether you'd make money selling it on is another matter but anyone who buys it might decide to keep it and enjoy the performance.

I'm not new to this hobby or naive about it either so spare me the lecture. $60k is a lot to invest in a car only to have it end up in the hands of a dealer. Granted the dealer no doubt insulted the guy when he first brought the car in but it just adds insult to injury (injury being the life event that caused the owner to part with the car in the first place) to put the thing up for sale with a $10k price tag.

Houses are not an iconic american car. Out of five mustangs that I've owned, I have sold two of them with one being to my girlfriend so I still get to drive that one everyday. The other one I sold because I couldnt do the work myself that needed to be done for it so it went to someone that could (who ended up reselling it for $4500). I was asking $2500 and had to take a low offer of $1900 which included gas money to drive that car and another from Rhode Island to Pennsylvannia. He later sent me a PM saying he was surprised with how good the car was for what he paid for it; well no shit, thats why I wanted $2500 for it. He pulled out a wad of $100 bills and peeled off about half of them to count out $1700 when I got there after insisting thats all he could spend on my car. After that I vowed never to sell another one unless I absolutely have to. I buy them cheap so that I can fix/restore them and then enjoy them.
I've got a sour taste for people who flip cars because of they generally low ball someone on their asking price in the first place. Their whole intention is to profit from your car and add to it by lowballing the seller.
Also I had a buddy who I helped swap out a clutch and transmission twice on a 95 GT because I thought he was going to keep the car. He ended up selling it less than a week later-----I havent helped with his new foxbody rustbucket project because of that.

Good for you, but you can't honestly tell me (or anyone for that matter) that someone can put a bunch of aftermarket stuff on a car and make a profit on it. It's a rare event. Like I said, the car is only worth what someone is willing to pay reguardless of how much was spent on the car. Hence a dealer only giving him a handful of beans for it.

Custom car and investment are 2 words that are about as common in a sentence as 83 Corvettes are on the road.

comparing craiglist ad side by side with turbo connections page reads like 2 different setups.
