1995 gt 306 build

hi guys I just joined the site, hopefully recieve much needed helpful information before i waste more money then i need to. aside from that heres what im working with. I have a 1995 mustang gt. pulled the stock motor out to build but i found a good deal on a used set up.

I bought a used short block, and various parts some never installed. I have completly disassembled the motor and cleaning it all up and checking all the specs and going to put new bearings and gaskets in while its on the motor stand

Its bored out to a 306. pistons have brand new rings on them from previous builder and the pistons are un determined of the brand. there dished almost look like stock ones but theres like a relief cut on the side of the piston top.

The cam is a F303 cam with hardend push rods and crane cams 1.7 roller rockers.

The heads are gt40s which are going to recieve a port job here shortly once i get time. Im unsure if the springs are the gt40 springs or are aftermarket

The intake is a trick flow track heat upper and lower and came with a spacer. seems like its laminate or some material like that. It has the trick flow 90 a bbk adjustable fuel pressure regulator with a manual gauge and stock throttle body and mass air flow sensor.

The injectors are 24lb injectors and i Have a cheaper cold air intake for it.

I have the smog pump, and ac removed and the ac

I have some main concerns and need some opinions also before i start putting this motor together.

1.I know im going to need bigger throttle body, mass air flow sensor and maybe a fuel pump. whats good combos on those or common set ups used?
2.Im looking at long tube headers, was looking at macs for price but have heard goods and bads on them.
3.should i block off the egr on the trick flow 90 with a simulator?
4.what will I need to do as far as tunning the car since air and fuel are going to increase
5.will the stock distributor give enough spark. it has a msd coil on the car

sorry for such a long post. but i just want to get the point across of what im dealing with. I searched alot of post about all the above but didnt know if some products would react better to my modds instead of another cars

And if theres any products that would be essential to my build let me know so i can look into them.. thanks in advance

1. A 75mm TB would be ideal since you have the Trick Flow intake, and get a MAF that's slightly bigger than that e.g. 80mm Pro M. Also get a 255lph fuel pump.

2. I have MAC long tubes and they're just fine.

3. The EGR eliminator simulator works for me but it seems to be hit and miss.

4. If you upgrade the fuel pump, injectors (24lb'ers), and have the appropriate calibrated MAF, that's the fuelling taken care of. You can try advancing the timing in 2 degree steps and see how far you can go before the engine pings. Your mods aren't radical enough to need a dyno tune and the F303 cam should be pretty forgiving.

5. The stock dizzy will do fine.

Finally, you'll definitely need to upgrade the valve springs. With the F303 cam and 1.7 ratio rockers, valve lift will be 0.544". You might want to check the PTV clearance when you're assembling the top end 'cause it'll be close.

Thanks, very helpful info. Ill check on that stuff. And the motorwas together once so ptv clearence is good but im still going to playdough and see how close I am I wanna run a thin head gasket to increase compression ratio. And the pistons are speed pros. What brand is good throttle body I have heard goods and bads about bbk

A Summit Racing 75mm TB would do fine. I've had the same one for nearly 4 years on my Stang.

What valve springs u guys recommend. I was on summit and under tthe f303 cam it recommended. M-6513-a351 install height 1.850 in, install height seat pressure 135lbs, open height 1.175 and open pressure 394 lbs and to get ford keeps and locks. Totaling like 190 for all. Or is there a better kit? Bigger woukd be better incase I get a bigger cam down the road.. .thanks
