408 stroker


im getting ready to buy a 408 stroker kit for my 351w blobk does anybody no if the pin on the piston intersects the ring like a 347?

Why? It won't cause any issues if that is why you are asking. I don't believe it does on most 408s but it depends on the rod length. Either way, its not an issue like some fools that don't know what they are talking about might tell you.

for a street motor daily driver I heard it will consume oil
becaue most of the year here it is 90% outside in south texas i was concerned Ive noticed opinions on both sides but no one ive talked to has the motor with an intersecting ring and pin

Whoever told you that has never owned one or built one for that matter. They have ring land rails that go on both sides of the oil ring. None of them burn oil but alot of people like to talk out of their asses and misinform people. I've owned several 347s and my current engine is a 425 that also has the pin intersecting the oil ring. Look at this logically, why would that make any difference at all? The wrist pin has nothing to do with oil control. All the oil wring does is squeege oil down the cylinder walls. There is no oil pressure in this area at all.

thanks for the info its a 408 for me do you have a favorite for a efi setup?
