347 advice


Fresh 347 looking for timing info and fuel pressure info, please help.

You're going to need to give a whole lot more info on the combo and what you're after to get any kind of response that will be worth something. I'm assuming you want to know where to set the timing and where to set the fuel pressure.

This is 306 stroked to 347, alum heads 205/160 -210 intake runners 58cc . victor efi all port heads and intake, .544/.568 lift cam, 75 throttle, 90 maf , 42 lb inj sct chip tuned but ready for dyno. I have 255 pump with all msd dist coil and 6 al

If you have a chip burnt, then leave the timing at stock, which if I'm not mistaken is still 10* on a SN-95. The chip will take care of the timing advances for you. I would also keep the fuel pressure stock which is 39lbs with the vac line off. Generally you'll be good anywhere between 36 and 42 lbs, but if you're going to dyno it, then you can find the sweet spot then.

dont jack with your fuel pressure, as it throws off the calculations in the ECM for the injector flow values.

Is it set strictly to 39 PSI or is there a little wiggle room in there for tolerances?

youd have to look at the calibration charts. but changing your fuel pressure so much as 3PSI, can throw the fuel calculations right out the window.

Good to know. I never knew it was that sensitive to adjustments in fuel pressure, but it makes sense that it would be, now that I think about it. Is there a website that has the charts?

update on 347 advice


Heres the deal timing was one tooth and my spark plugs were the wrong ones,there are two type of plugs .500 long thread and a .708 thread length i need the .708 my bad. Now that ive got past that it is running rich and my regulator is not adjusting with vacume it stay at what it is , does this mean its bad its new but I know it can happen and it still wont idle its doing way better but what do I do now?

you could start by taking English lessons.

Looks like you've just been AdderMk2.

Back on topic. If the fuel pressure doesn't change when you apply vacuum to the regulator (make sure that there IS vacuum from the hose to begin with), chances are that the new regulator is bad.
In any event, you need to have the fuel pressure at the stock level (30psi with vacuum, 39psi without) and the base ignition timing at 10* BTDC (spout out) before you have new fuel/timing tables programmed into the chip.
