Unhappy 95 GT transmission auto

I blew up my stock auto transmission on my 95 GT probably twisted the spline out of the convertor it still goes in reverse but wont go forward accdpt it creeps anyway what should i do for an upgrade have mine rebuilt locally i live in CT or buy one already done online? You guys have always steered me in the right direction and if done locally what should the cost be and what are the better parts to look for when having this done

The choice between a performance rebuild of your existing tranny or buying a new performance tranny really depends on how much you can trust your local tranny shop to do a top notch job.
Rebuilding your old tranny will certainly cost less but unless your local tranny shop is reliable, you might have to bite the bullet and pay more for a new one (you'll have the extra cost of shipping too). If you're lucky, the company supplying the new tranny may offer a discount if they take your old one as a core exchange.

Ive read its better to buy from a shop that Dynos there transmissions for best performance and road tests them is another term. A few online have them for between 1500 and 2000 for a complete 500 HP Dyno tested replacement with 2-3 year warranty the price includes shipping torque convertor and core and i can ship my old one back to them cheap because i work for a commercial company

Sounds like it's a no brainer then Bob so just send your old tranny/torque converter as a core exchange for the upgraded new items. Hope it works out well for you.

WHen I get home, I'll be looking to throw a PA AODE into my car. I like the warranty they have, and love the fact that they have managed to keep a manual 1-2-3 shift with an auto OD... Simply Awesome!

I looked into a company called Goodfellas transmissions out of Florida it seems they do what a lot of the more expensive places do using quality parts dyno road testing there transmissions and warranty as many others do but around 300-500 less for the same transmission. For around 1600 i can get a transmission that takes 500 HP and 500 Torque delivered to my house with the core

That sounds very good but do they offer a warranty?

Yeah, except a T5 won't support 500lbft of torque and you'd need to pay even more to get the TKO 500.
