Deleting egr valve on 5.0

Hey I was wondering I am going to delete the egr valve on my 95 5.0. Now I was looking on ebay and found the simulator, and a delete plate for when you take the egr valve off. also a nut to put on the header. Do you think its worth it? also the only delete plate is for a fow 5.0 will that still work on the 94 and 95 5.0?

heres the links

header nut

delete plate for fox

also do you know where I can just buy it all from one place instead of from 3 different people???

I deleted the EGR valve and also used the eliminator simulator from ebay. I made my own block off plate for the TB elbow, and stuck a coin inside the original female nut and threaded it to the manifold. No issues at all, and I have ample space to change the no.4 spark plug.
Was it worth it? Hell yeah! I'd already removed most of the smog pump assembly so I'll also have ample space to unbolt the old exhaust manifolds and replace them with headers.

No. I plugged the vacuum line so I've had no problems at all.

I can't remember which color was the vacuum line that came off the EGR valve but it goes forwards under the intake manifold and comes out on the passenger side to go through the inner fender. The lines are plastic and they become very brittle with age. All three of mine (pink, red, and green) broke so I capped them all (my smog pump's also gone).

There is no real reson to delete the egr other than to clean up the engine bay. If you do delete it have that function turned off in the pcm. Using the simulator is a waist, it only gets rid of the check engine light. You will still be prone to detination.

95opal--

Is there any way to get the EGR function turned off in the PCM without getting a chip burned or something like the TwEECer? I've been chasing pinging problems on the wife's 94GT and ended up deleting the tube (it twisted off when I tried to take it off to look at it). I closed off the the holes, put a screw in the vacuum hose, and set the plunger to where the CEL doesn't come on--the resistor assembly didn't keep the light off for me.

I used the EGR eliminator simulator that I bought in ebay from c182pilot. Cheap, looks neat, and it works.

How come? Chances of getting detonation are reduced when the EGR is removed especially in places with a hot climate. Plus of course, getting rid of all that plumb work under the hood.

But it adds nothing to performance because at WOT, the EGR is bypass and the valve is completely closed.

True that on the WOT situation, but at idle and part throttle there is definately going to be more of a chance of detination.
A hot climate is even more reason to keep it as the exhaust gases are used to cool the cumbustion chamber. Hence reducing emissions and detonation. Which as you all know 94-95 cars are prone to due to the fact that our pcm is load based, unlike the fox A9l.

P-351.... The only real way areuond it is to have it turned off in the pcm via a chip, tweecer, PMS or the like. Like I said there is no performance gain from removing the EGR it only helps clean up the enginebay.

BTW.. I do have mine removed but it has also been turned of with my tune.
