throttle response/computer

It seems like my car dosent have the throttle response it use to,it feels like it hesitates when i punch it then starts picking up..i cleaned the maf sensor and tuned it up but its still not there..wheni scaned my computer it threw a 511 code for read only memory test failure-replace pcm (computer) i know the computer deals with fuel,advance spark timing,idle...but the shop said they cant say that me replacing my computer will help my throttle response problem,it might just get rid of my code..what do you guys think any one had this problem?

p.s. i need to get my computer flashed for all my mods so ill probly replace it before i go have it tuned...

You could try disconnecting the battery for at least 10 minutes to reset the computer. It'll cost nothing and it might just work.
