Intermittent cutting out prob.

Around spring I bought a 95 5.0. It is near stock. It has a cold air intake and a bbk exhaust. One day me and the family were crusing, husband driving. The gas hand was just below a quarter tank. No problem we will get gas in a few. Well it ran out atleast we thought. We sat for a min. cop pulled up told him we were alright he left. Then the car started up and we drove off. It did the same thing over and over until we got to a gas station, got gas and we just figured the gauge was off a little dont push it and all will be good. Well all isnt good. It has slowly creeped up the gauge when it does this. Seems like when it is acting like it is out of gas you stop, put gas in and it is fine. Until now it is doing it when she is full. my husband changed the filter but that hasnt helped.

Hook up fuel pressure gauge and drive to see what it does. Be prepared to check for ignition spark at shut down also.
