4Cyl T-5 Vs. 8Cyl T-5

Whats the Diff I had always thought the B.W T-5 for the 4 Cyl, V6 and V8 cars were all pretty much the same. If not whats the Diff?

And on another note will the T-5 from say a 99-04 V6 Mustang Bolt to a 94 GT Bellhousing i figured it should being its the same Trans Splines etc i just think its a e speedo and not a cable 99+ But i cold be wrong...

Ok, the 4 cyl T5s are notably weaker than the V8 T5s. I think they are in the low 200's as far as torque ratings.

In a pinch, I've used 4 cyl T5's behind the 5.0 in my old 1990 GT and never had an issue. It shifted like butter and I beat the crap out of it and it never missed a beat. Over 2 years of abuse without issues.

Keep in mind, if you use a 4 cyl T5, it is the same length as any Fox T5 and will require use of a Fox bellhousing and clutch fork to use it on your 94/95 car.

The 99-04 V6 T5s are internally the same as 94/95's with the same exact gear set and torque rating of 300 ft lbs. The difference in these trannies lies in the tailshaft and tailshaft housing. They were designed for the newer magnetic pickup driver for the speedometer where ours still used a mechanical gear and drive gear. If you swap the tailshaft housing over to the 99-04 V6 transmission it will be virtually identical.
