Cooper Cobra Tires
I cant seem to turn up anything (to my knowledge) of a Cooper Cobra that will fit the 17x8 inch Cobra rims. Can anyone help me or confirm the nonexistence of the tire and if thats the case, suggestions on a cheaper stylish tire. Thanks people!

I'd put on Sumitomo HTRZII's in a 245/40/17. They are only $99 each on tirerack.com...link is below. Maybe a 245/45/17 on the rear for a bit beefier sidewall...those are only $92 each. I know AmericanMuscle sells them as well and they have free shipping. They have an aggressive tread pattern, are quite sticky (have 275/40/17s on my rear wheels and they grab really well), and seem to have decent tread life and an even wear pattern.
Sumitomo HTR Z II Just my suggestion!

I don't think they make a size bigger then 16". I used to have 15" wheels on my old car and used Cobra's. I too use the Sumitomos for daily driving. Also Falken and Kuhmo make good cheap tires.

I have Khumo AST on my car right now. Had them for about a year. Decent grip but I don't think they will last 2 more years. I drive A LOT.

I have had great luck with the Falken ziex...I've never personally run a Kumho tire, but have heard mixed reviews.
I actually like the Falken better than the sumitomo, but if you're looking for a "stylish" tire, I think the sumi looks more aggressive.

Yeah I was a little hesitant when purchasing mine. If my tire dealer had them, I would have got the Khumo ASX..its a "step up from" my AST. My friend has a Mazda with the ASX ones..and they seem like exactly the same quality. The tire tread is just a bit different.
All in all I am happy with them. They are a decent tire for not a lot of money. The dry road grip is incredible for such a "value" brand of tire. The wet grip is great in the front where the weight is, but it isn't the greatest in the rear..but I don't mind that . No real snow experience with them. ICE was bad this year on the roads. They held up well on the ice until I got to the huge hill that is my driveway. I got farther up the neighborhood than my dad did in his BFgoodrich wrapped 18" wheels. ![]() The only drawback is that I have about 10k-15k miles on them and they are gonna be gone at around 30,000. They are 40,000 mile tires.. I would be SURPRISED as hell if they last that long. You get what you pay for I guess.

Back in 1990 I ran GoodYear Gatorbacks P225/60/15 on my "SSP". They were $238.00. I came across Cooper Cobras, they were just like the Gatorbacks. I was told they were made by GoodYear at their plants with their materials.I don't know that to be true, but that is what I was told. They sold for $140.00 and was every bit as good as the GoodYears, if not better. Had 2 bad blowouts with GoodYears, one causing a pretty bad wreck. I also tried to find 245/45/17 Cooper Cobras, but had no luck. So I went with BFG's G-Sports and love them.
