water pump


i was told if i run my car at all without water, my water pump will be shot is this true at all?

Your whole engine will be shot if you run it without water so it's not something that I'd recommend.

First, do i dare ask why you would take the water out. Second, your water pump is lubercated with the antifreeze, so it will probably get too hot and mess it up.

i pulled my smashed radiator that leaked out anyway and ran it to move it onto the trailer and my machanic saw nothing wrong with it and neither nid the machanic at the collision shop? but i was curious if anyone had any experience with it?

if you were only moving it a short distance and were worried about it just pop the belt off, that whay it wont spin. my opinion is that it didnt hurt it moving it a short distance..better safe than sorry tho and water pumps are cheap anyways lol

it isnt much work at all...its pretty straight forward and can do it in less than a couple hours
