New set of front tires.
Ok I had a blow out today on my way home(looks like I ran something over that cut my sidewall while on the interstate). Now I need new front tires cause the insides are worn out anyways so it is about time for new tires(and an alignment). I am currently running 255/40R17 Nitto 555's on the front on a 17x9 wheel. Now my dilemma is that I don't really like the way the 255's sit on the wheel they are just a tiny bit too skinny for my liking but the next step up is a 275/40 and I don't know if I want something that wide on the front of my car.
So what do yall think should I stick with the 255's or go to the larger 275's?

i would stick with the 255's up front, 275 seems a bit big for my taste but everyone is different, i have 17x8 up front with 245/45/17 and 17x10.5 deep dish bullit in the rear with 275/40/17 and i love the way the car sits

Yea I am loving my 555's I am also leaning towards keeping the 255s up front(I really wish nitto made a 265/40R17 555) because when I first bought these wheels there were 275's on the fronts and they rubbed a little on hard turns and it got kinda annoying.

yeah it was kinda like when i bought my 10.5 bullit rims, i wantd 285/40/17. I looked around and NOBODY stocks them so i went with 275/40/17 because every place i called had at least 2 or 3 sets of those lol

Ive got 275's up front on my 17x9 cobra's and there pretty awesome...everybody is in fricken AWE of how huge they are. they do tend to rub a bit at full lock, but thats also because its lowered. personally i think it adds a great classic muscle car stance to it.

I already get the AWE look when people see my 315s out back lol. My car is also lowered and I don't want the rubbing especially since I tend to cut corners pretty hard in my spirited driving.

I have 245's all around. Until I start modding the motor, I see no reason for any wider at back beside stance. I will probably get some wheel spacers for that though.
Any wider in front I feel wouldn't do any good because of weight and the rubbing. My car already hits turns fast as hell. My friends are so impressed when they slam into the door for the first time. ![]() Can't wait for some suspension upgrades and sub-frame connectors.

275 in front are a bit much in my opinion...They don't necessarily look bad, they just create so much resistance up front, especially if you take your car to the drag strip at all. I'd stick with the 255 (not sure if a 245 on a 9" rim would be too much of a stretch or not) and if you are not stuck on the nittos, look around because every tire maker is a bit different. They may have the same demension, but actually run a bit skinnier...know what I mean?

Yea the 255's have a tiny bit of stretch and it is too much for me so 245s would be horrible in my eye(unless I found a pair of 17x8s). I think I will stay with the 255's and I am stuck on the Nitto 555 cause it is a great all around tires, decent traction for a street tire, and these things don't wear out ever(unless you are lazy like me and never installed caster/camber plates).
