Id like to see this same thread again but have the gt40 aluminum heads swaped out for a few different size trick flow and AFR heads and see the power increase. from what ive heard the gt40 aluminums are OKAY heads but are vary far from being the best
thanks for the info! check this website out. stan weiss' cylinder head flow data at 28 inches of water. it will tell you all the flow numbers for just about every head ever made. this way you can compare actual flow numbers head vs head. but, just because a head has high flow numbers dont mean its a better head. i think the gt-40 aluminum heads are a great head imo. they only flow 10cfm less out of the box then the Roush gt-40 cnc machined aluminum heads, so thats pretty damn good if you ask me.

hahaha! ya i had to stick up for the gt-40 aluminums! i wouldnt trade them for anything else at this point. if you look at my last dyno sheet, my hp and tq kept on climbing all the way to 5500rpm. they gotta be flowing good to do that. heres a pic.

I don't believe anything I read in a magazine, they are just trying to sell ads. They sell ads by helping the people that pay them to put the ads up sell parts so they will continue to buy the ads. I have seen first hand what they will write in magazine despite what really happens. I have seen them fake dyno numbers, time slips and even setups that didn't work.

I don't pay any attention to chassis dyno numbers either, they can be fudged, vary from machine to machine, and when used with an auto mean absolutely nothing. If dyno numbers really meant something then manual transmission cars would walk all over automatic transmission cars and that isn't the case. Higher peak numbers are not better than staying at peak throughout the run.

The only number that matters is the time slip. I couldn't tell you how many times people have asked me how much gain they would get on the dyno with a better converter and then didn't buy one because that is all they wanted.
Dyno number chasing is pointless, chasing time slips is what means something, those numbers don't lie.
Alan
