The cold starting issue may be your Coolant Temperature Sensor. On startup the ECU registers your Coolant Temperature Sensor, IAC, MAF, and O2 sensors and based off of those bits of information your ecu sets the timing curve and fuel delivery for warm up. it's a little more complicated than that I know, but once up to operating temps the ecu kicks back to the normal operating tune. the CTS has a tendency to fail and does not send the proper signal to the ecu, you can use a multi-meter to test these sensors as well, but a simple test is unplug it on startup and see if you have a better time starting, if so replace it. on the 94-95 there is a hole on top of the iac that you will be able to put a small allen wrench in there and adjust your idle after the iac is hooked up
