95 Mustang 5.0 Winter build Need Advice!
Hello i will start by telling you what i have. 95 mustang 5.0 gts cobra clone. Some ad ons already but i want to go further, so far it has a bbk cold air intake along with a catless H pipe. Alum driveshaft, 3.73 posi, t 5 manual with a king cobra clutch, pro 5.0 shifter, and i was told a bigger fuel pump but that i dont know. i also know that the emissions have been taken off the motor as far as i know. Well here is what im looking to do. Summit has a trick flow kit that says it can get you close to 360hp. TFS-K514-360350B
If i do go with that kit will i need bigger injectors? headers? different computer? maf? throttle body? pretty much just asking what all i need to do to get the best results with what i already have. Im looking to get as close to 400hp as possible so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have heard some good things about trick flow but it is a bit pricey. If i could achieve the same hp with something different im not opposed to doing that i just need to know what im getting. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks |

Im also not opposed to converting it to a carb setup if anyone has done this and has any tips on how to do it just let me know.
Not sure how it would work with the fuel tank i have in it and how the linkage and such would line up |

You will need new injectors, 24lb or 30lb should work.
The stock headers are really restrictive so I would replace those as well. You will need to buy the trickflow elbow throttle body adapter seperate. 75mm I believe. You will need a tune, not necessarily a new computer. Honestly its more trouble than it is worth to convert an EFI car to a carbed one.

24lb injectors with calibrated maff unless your getting it tuned for the bigger injectors
you dont have to at this time but id look into upgrading to a larger throttle body 70-75mm. the maff meter should be the same size or bigger then the throttle body, then complete it with a good set of headers

when i say calibrated, i mean when you buy a new mass air flow meter make sure its match up to the same size fuel injectors, or if you get the car dyno tuned they can program the injector size straight into the cars computer, if thats done you dont have to buy a new mass air flow meter unless you just want to upgrade to a bigger size

Does the 170cc work with the stock pistons? I know that 165cc's do and 180cc's require some valve relief mods. You will need a more powerful fuel pump as well if you don't already have one.

TFS doesn't make 165's or 180's. Any wedge head with a 2.02 intake valve will clear a stock piston up to a certain size lift/duration cam, even the 205 heads. You always have to check PTV when you do an install though to make sure it will clear because every engine is different. If it won't clear, flycutting your pistons isn't that hard or expensive. If you have the mechanical know-how to replace your top-end on your own, you shouldn't have any problems notching your pistons if needed.
