Thinking Of Going Big Opinions Please
Ok so i am thinking of going big with my 95 vert.. thoughts please
I have been looking at this since i found it at MPS an the price has now come down so i am thinking possiably tax time depending on how the new job goes. here is the link: Thoughts opinions. With my new job i can work as much as i want being an independent contractor.. so i could devote weeks at a time on the build. My thoughts are the engine an harness is pretty stright forward..\ I am nervous about the dash harness an the hydra boost system install along with the body harness.. Does anyone know if the power seats conv top pumps speakers etc will connect to the new harness or will splicing be required , same question with dash harness. AZn would i need to change the lighting harness over too.. would also be doing an IRS swap at the same time.. I know some may ask why?? I dont really know... the power, the satisfaction of pretty much rebuilding my entire car myself. the looks when i open the hood... dont really know but i think it would kick ass when it was done.. |

My opinion... boost the 5.0
It might not have so much of a "wow" factor, but the cost vs. power ratio is better

I second furreal302, just boost the 5.0L. You will probably enjoy driving your car sooner than making this swap. Besides 8500+ is a heck of alot more goodies for your 5.0L

Hey if you got the money for it and drive I would say go for it and it would be badass. Otherwise 8k into your 5.0 will more than likley get you down the track faster than that terminator motor is, but you wont have that "wow factor". Good luck man

Spending $8500+ on just the engine/tranny alone doesn't make any sense to me when they're going into a car whose market value is only ~$3000. You then still need to factor in the cost of fabrication (K-member), engine mounts, tranny mount, installation, sorting out wiring/ignition/fuelling, and other things that'll nickel and dime you to death. By the time all's said and done, your expense will be well over $10k and guess what? If you ever need to sell the car you'll take a big loss.
I agree with the others. Just stick a blower on your existing 5.0 and save yourself a lot of money and headaches. Otherwise just sell your '95 vert as it is and use the money from the sale plus $10k to buy yourself an '03 Cobra.

a well built supercharged 5.0 has a great "wow" factor. or even a 351 would still be alot cheaper, and could easily reach the same power output.
