94 and 96 Mustang Shocks And Coils Interchangable?

I have 96 mustang and the subframe has been changed to a 94 so i'm curious to whether I should get 96 shocks and coils or 94.

A trick I like to use is look up the part on rockauto.com. If you click on the part number they tell you the years that part fits. According to them the shocks and struts are the same from 1994-2004.

If you've been looking at any of the Mustang parts sellers in the magazines you'll see that they advertise lowering springs as 1979-2004.........Struts and shocks are 1994-2004 because the 1993 and earlier cars use a slightly different attachment point (struts) and the shocks and struts are valved differently internally.

PSSSSSTTTT!!!!! your Mustang is NOT silver!!!! It's called Opal Frost. There is actually a registry for it becuase the color is somewhat rare. Check out this website run by Neven Soric, OFMR - Opal Frost Mustang Registry

The number 2 car in the registry, a 1995 v6 Mustang is owned by my girlfriend and I.
Submit your info and pictures to Neven via his website and he can get your car up on the registry website page.

You guys sure as hell give some knowledgeable facts. Quick question I need a stiff suspension for traction? What should i get and what brand? Coil overs or what?

also if you lower your car the fox body struts are about an inch shorter(less chance of bottoming out)

You are actually more likely to bottom out with Fox body struts because they are shorter. The 1994-04 struts have an internal bumpstop and are considered the best upgrade for the fox body cars.

The best help for your suspension to gain traction would be aftermarket rear lower control arms.
If you can swing the cash for it, Bilstein is the best name in shocks and struts and furthermore, Maximum Motorsports has their coil over setup for the Bilstein shocks and struts.

For a basic street-driven suspension like what I have on 3 of my mustangs, Tokico shocks/struts and FRPP springs, Eibach springs or Steeda Sport springs will work just fine.
