Do the usual things like cold air intake, larger MAF, larger TB, intake manifold, heads, camshaft, headers, midpipe, exhaust, and underdrive pulleys.

Since it's a tow vehicle, I suggest looking into getting more torque as well as horsepower. Get some 3:73 gears, full exhaust, iron gt40 heads with new springs (matching the cam), explorer intake cleaned up and this cam ----> Retro Fit Hyd Roller Cam - Ford 221-302/351W 284/292 - Lunati Power I did some snooping around and this looks great for your usage. Decent lift for good horsepower and duration is matched to make good low end steam.

Well, if your only going short distances you could just use some nitrous. LOL

I had a 92 as well and know what you mean about its low end...it sucked. It was too long ago for me to remember exact specs, but putting good exhaust, and a different cam made worlds of difference on mine. I bet different heads and intake would have really made that cam come alive. Used heads, used intake, free flowing exhaust and a new cam would be my approach.

or again, NO2 and a big ass bottle with long duration
