How much boost?
Hi I have a 95 GTS with Edelbrock Performer heads and Powerdyne supercharger and more, just wanted to know how much boost a stock 302 block can handle. I am currently running 6 pounds of boost. I want to upgrade to a 11 pound pulley. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but from what I've heard, the stock block can't take no more than 500 + HP, you can crack the block. So figure out how much power your making, get a dyno.
I'm sure more will come in and give your more info.

11 psi might be pushing it. if your going to up your boost i'd would'nt go with more than 9 psi on a stock block.

Well at 6 your probably low 300s hp right now. SO, id say 9 at the most.. but your really pushing it with hypertech pistons in there. They were never made to boost.

I have heard that they can't take more than 500 also, but wasn't sure.
Last time I had my car dyno'd down in FL I was pushing 412 HP. I have many other mods besides the heads and supercharger (full exhaust w/ no cats, complete MSD ignition system, ford racing radiator, tremec 5-speed trans, king cobra clutch w/ LW flywheel, complete suspension, FMU, MSD boost timing master, 3-program ECU, edelbrock cam, and more). I will post pics, I only have 1 or 2 right now. Ok so +2 for 9psi. Any more inputs? |
