Fog lights... Run Them all the time? Same as head lights?

I have a question for those of you who have the stock set up mustang GT foglights. First I just burned out my drivers side one. How hard to replace, do I just need a bulb? Any special upgraded bulbs I can get?

Does it matter if I leave these on all the time with the head lights? How long do the bulbs last are they regular life or do they burn out quicker then head lights? Finally are these ment to make a difference in the fog becuse I really dont notice any.

I think fog lights are more for the other people on the road.. you know, so they don't smack right into you head on.

Like MSO said, they are mainly for show. But they are not hard to change. Also they should turn off when you got bright lights on or mine does!! For the bulb, just go get one from partstore!! No need it spending alot of money on a foglight bulb!!!!

I bought some good old sylvania 8.00 bulbs. The guy said not to touch the bulb when I instal them. How hard is it to put these in? Any tips? If I run these all the time when my lights are on how long could I expect them to last? Thanks

its the same as changing a headlight and the bulbs should last just as long as a headlight too.

Just don't paw them up with oils in your hands. Wash your hands before you do it if your paranoid. It's not that difficult, just hold it with a small rag if you must touch the bulb itself. Should go in so easy you won't have to worry about it.

Go with whatever the cheapest bulb is that matches your headlights. Xenon / Ultrabright look awkward if your still sporting the more "yellow" stock headlight.

I was able to put fog lights on my v6 and I used the convertible switch that came factory installed to power mine, that way I can use them without having to go thru the headlight system. Now I can turn them off and on whenever I feel like it. Its a great thing I love those lights.

Where can I find those Xenon fog light bulbs?

Tip: Fog lights are not white. Fog lights are yellow. White light reflects off fog and just shines back at you. Yellow lights cut thru the fog so on coming vehicles can see you from farther away. White lights are nothing more than auxiliary driving lights that just annoy on coming drivers. They look cool and all, but please be courteous and turn them off when on coming cars and trucks are approaching.

+1 on everything he said....

and as far the life span of them, don't worry about them burning out...you probably just had one go bad.

and if you have a lot of trouble putting it on, just ask somebody at the parts store you bought it from, like i know the autozone here would help you with something like that, they are usually pretty cool about it.
