oil pan gasket?
hey I was thinking about changing that oil pan gasket b/c I still have an oil leak some where. I changed timing chain cover gasket, intake manifold gasket valve cover gaskets.
anyways Is there any specail things I need to know before I do it? |

The only thing specaial about the procedure is that is a pain the the ass.

get the one from ford which is a 1pc molded rubber over plastic gasket that is reusable.they are used in 5.0 explorers

Have you considered the fact it might be your rear main seal?? I had to pull my engine last winter to do a rear main seal...a lot of work for one little part

i agree with getting the bubber one as well.
the oil pan gasket is a pita to do.. you either have to lift your motor or drop your k member to get to it.

No, I am not saying that what you did was wrong. I was just saying that it is much easier to pull the tranny instead of the engine. Dont take it the wrong way.
