HOT WATER!!!!!!!

Ok, 1995 gt 5.0. Still running to hot for comfort. new water pump, new auto meter gauge, fluidyne aluminum radiator, New temp sensors, new head gaskets, good hoses, 50/50 coolant, new 180 thermo. I can drive about 20 miles at 175-185. When I slow down in traffic, temp starts to creep until it gets around 205. Then it hovers for a few minutes. When I get back up to speed, temp goes back to 180-190. when I slow down, the temp goes to about 210. When I speed up again it goes back to about 190-200. Slow down=220 and then I'm home. No coolant leaks. New cap. the only problem is a crack in the overflow. When I changed the head gaskets, even the check engine light went out. Any help would be great. I'm so frustrated. Would a sensor (mass air flow, o2, or any other one) do this? How bout underdrive pullys? I even put the timing back to stock.

sounds like its because of your fan since it heats up only when going slow or stopped. make sure the fan is turning on at the right temps...check the low speed and the high speed.

Agree that the fan is the most likely problem. It sounds like it's working fine in low speed mode but perhaps not working in high speed. Both low speed and high speed fan relays are inside the CCRM.

The chiltons manual that I have says that the 1995 gt only have a one stage fan. It says that the 1996 4.6 liters have a 2 stage fan.

My mistake, I misread the book. It has a 2 stage fan, and my high speed isnt working. I guess I need to replace the CCRM. Is $156 a good price?

There's a cheaper solution. You can splice into the wire going to pin 17 of the CCRM and connect a wire via a toggle switch inside the vehicle to ground. With the switch in the on position, the wire from pin 17 will be grounded and the high speed fan will work.

OK, no more hot water. Here is a list of all items done to fix problem.
Water Pump - no help
Head Gaskets- helped a little
Heater Core - helped a little, it was leaking but not in the floor. It was leaking into the fan motor area. It just fogged the windshield and smelled like coolant when the AC was on.
New fan motor - helped a little
CCRM - fixed all the way, High speed on the fan wasn't coming on, caused car to get hot when slowing down.

I hope this info helps someone else. I know I have been chasing this problem for over a month. Thanks to those who helped me.
