JLT CAI

I have seen many posts about CAI's and JLT comes up at least once everytime. I am in the market for a new CAI and was just wondering what makes JLT superior over say BBK? Everyones opinion is appreciated.

Here is the deal I have found with JLTs. They only work when they are cold or when you have been driving for a while keeping air moving through them. They are made out of PVC pipe and tend to heat soak. They don't heat up nor cool down as fast as a metal or a thin plastic intake. At the track if it is not iced between runs it will heat the Iat sensor to outrageous temps and it will not cool down until the 1/8th mile with the passenger side headlight removed. Moving the IAT doesn't work either because the fender well's air temperature is still hotter than the ambient air temp. This will make the car run .5 seconds slower in the 1/4. If your just using it for the street or have the money to buy ice for the track get the JLT. If not I would go with a metal intake.

Thanks for the help guys, I used to go to the strip but I dont anymore. I realized that it was stupid to race my driver after shelling a tranny and a rear end. So I guess I will order the JLT.

i just put a JLT on my 94 cobra and noticed a nice difference when i drove it. i think the jlt is well worth the 220 bucks i payed at jlttruecoldair.com. i would recommend it to anyone over a bbk or mac or k&n. but get a floor jack it makes putting the filter on so much easier(if you get the fenderwell kit like mine.)

Since it was brought back, JLT's are cheaper and provide close to the same gains you would get from an Anderson Power Pipe.
