its getting hard and hot because the cooling system builds pressure so thats ok nothing to worry about, but mine runs in the same area between the M and L (which is about 220 Degrees) ive yet to figure it out too... sooo maybe someone else will be able to help us.

I'm in the same boat and I'm not even running a thermostat, but here it's 115*F outside so that comes as no surprise. I think the stock radiator is marginal at best and when the weather's hot, it just can't cool the engine enough. I'm planning to replace mine with a Mishimoto aluminium unit.

i was just comparing the mishimoto and the fluidyne radiators i don't know anything about either of them but they both say the cool 20-25% better than stock but the fluidyne is about $200 more than the mishimoto.

Make sure your fan is working properly. Make sure the temp gauge is accurate. Make sure high speed and low speed on the fan are coming on at the right temps. check both temp sensors. Dont take the thermostat out. It is there to help the computer control the engine properly. If all those things are correct. Try bypassing the heater core. Mine had a pinhole in it. It never leaked. What it was doing was allowing air into the system and therefore the flow was screwed up. The leak was only evident if you turned on the defroster. You will also find a haze on the inside of the windshield. So clean your windshield and turn on the defroster. If it becomes hazy, smells like coolant or fogs up the windshield, replace the heater core. Hope this helps.

He he, the funny thing is that my engine didn't have a thermostat in it from the time that I bought the Stang 6 months ago except I didn't know it until recently.
My low speed fan comes on at 208*F but the high speed doesn't work when I operate MAX AC. The only time the high speed fan does work is when the gauge is almost in the red. I'm going to wire up a manual switch for it by grounding the wire to CCRM pin 17.
My gauge seems to work fine; 208*F corresponds to the M and the 198*F fan off temp. is between O and R.

I would say run a 3.73, they are the most popular. it makes a big difference and your car won't rev really high when your on the highway. 4.10s are a little low i think

ive never done it before i think it would just be easier to bring it to a mechanic and have them do it. or find a write up online that shows you how to do it yourself.
