400-500hp buildI bought a 94 mustang GT about two weeks ago, I've always been a fan of mustangs... My goal at the end of this project is to be able to hit between 400 to 500 horsepower... I was just wondering if anyone could give me advice one getting an engine ready for that kinda of power or a build that would get me to 400-500hp in a logical and money wise way. Thanks everyone... |

If you really want over 400hp at the crank, you'll need to think about either a stroker or forced induction 'cause 400hp is as much as you're gonna get out of a naturally-aspirated 302 and keep it streetable.
Decide which way you'd like to go and then you can start drafting your shopping list of parts. |

You can get around 500rwhp with all the usual bolt-ons plus HCI and forced induction. If you want to use nitrous, the production block will usually live as long as you use it alone (maximum 100 shot if you have HCI) and not combine it with a supercharger or turbo. Otherwise, you'll go way over 500rwhp and the block will split down the middle.
Your T5 tranny won't take much more torque than 300lbft so a tranny upgrade should be on your list of mods once you've gone past basic bolt-ons. |
