The backfiring is probably being caused by raw fuel entering the headers, an indication that the engine's running way too rich at WOT. Unless you have forced induction, you don't need anything bigger than 24lb injectors. Your 42lb'ers are much too big and they're probably drowning your plugs in fuel during warm-up, causing the hesitation.

ok sounds good but i have a vortech supercharger and my car was dynod at 500 hp rw at larrocas in nj.....
the s/c is at 11 to 15 psi on a cool day
i shoul have explained that from the begining;;
plus i have a 255 psi intank pump and a votech outside pump---the fuel psi reads (((80 psi when on 10 psi of boost))) and 35 psi at idle
(((( plus any nj guys out there, know of a good mustang shop --larrocas closed down and i would like something near by close to rt33 lol...
the back fire started happening when the s/c was added on to the car...

Yeah, that would have been helpful.
Since the problem only started after the supercharger was installed, you might wanna check that there's no leak where the supercharger's mounted to the intake manifold, and check the throttle body gasket area.
