cooler thermostat?

a friend recomened putting a cooler thermostat in my stang because its been running hot. i had a problem with the thermostat hangin up and causing the car to overheat really fast, so i replaced it. this was about a month and a half ago maybe. two days ago i was drivin and it over heated again, but this time my antifreeze was boiling and spewing out of the resovoir...and yesterday i drove it and it was fine for the most part. any help would be appreciated...im not driving it with it like this because i dont have the money to replace a motor, so if any one knows please tell me. thanks.

Antifreeze boiling up and spewing out of the reservoir could be a sign that you have a bad radiator cap that's not holding pressure. With less pressure in the cooling system, the coolant boils at a lower temperature.
Buy a new 16psi radiator cap. That's a cheap fix 4U.

same thing happened to me it was a bad cap and i replaced it and for the over heating make sure fan is turning on mine overheated due to a bad coolant temperature sensor which is what tells the fan to turn on. mine still runs about 20 degrees too hot but it hasn't overheated since i replaced that sensor.

no..the last time it was overheating/ heating up extremely fast, i replaced the thermostat myself, and i did the same this time...it helped, but i need to have the car looked at. when im drivin at around40-60 mph itll have like little "spasms" where it cuts out and back in really quickly. i notice it more with cruise control on then with it off, but idk..i was thinkin maybe a bad plug or injector...what do you guys think?
