CAM Labor Costs
Will be getting a TrickFlow Stage 2 Cam. What are the average labor costs on that install in the 5.0? If tis true that the timing chain, water pump are coming off, shouldnt new ones go on their while the stuff is off? What else should get changed while I'm at it? Thanks in advance!

timing chain, pushrods, valvesprings, and retainers/locks/etc. it would also be a good idea to get new lifters (crane would be preferable). water pump is not too hard to do later but you may opt to do it now if you've got the $$$. not sure on the labor cost but it could get pretty high if they do it right (ie degreeing the cam)
lifters: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...6&autoview=sku one of these spring kits is what you'll need...not sure which one, but give TFS a call or do some research to find out: http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...=KeywordSearch |

nwe push rods too? how much do those run? thanks for the info! if you got some lifters that were lightly used, would you use them or opt to go with new ones?

pushrods aren't that expensive. the shop should use an adjustable pushrod length checker to find the correct length and then order the corect ones for it. |
