302 Stoker Kit

Ford Racing Stroker Crankshaft Kits - JEGS

Is this kit a good kit for the 94 - 95 5.0 GTS? Will it make the 302 to a 347? Lastly, what kind of hp does this kit yield?

if you're wantin to stroke your 302 to a 347 then you need a 347 stroker kit. itll include pistons, rings, rods, and a crank. theres lots of good ones but jegs has one with forged crank and pistons and a i beam rods for $1059.99. thats the one im lookin at getting. and if you combine that with the right heads/cam/intake combination, bolt ons, and a good tune...you could make close to 450 at the ground. thats what im wanting to do to my 94 cobra.

just stroking without the supporting mods or without matching it with a good HCI combo is not gonna get you an insane amount of power...im pretty sure that its just the difference in the numbers 347-302= 45hp. i could be wrong but i know i have heard that somewhere.

Darrell / Anthony, good stuff, looks like an affordable kit too! Whats the install time on something like that and will I need anything else to get the kit installed properly?

you NEED a good h/c/i with a larger displacement engine.

I wouldnt run any heads that are smaller than 180cc. depending on what you plan to use the engie for... you might even wanna consider a set of canfield 195'x, RHS 200's, AFR 205's... etc

As for a cam... custom grind is the ONLY way to go.

Custom cams are not the ONLY way to go. Plenty of off the shelf sticks will get the job done if 400-450hp is your goal. Heck, even 500hp. With a 347, i wouldnt use anything smaller than a 170cc head if its a dedicated street engine.

If it came down to a choice between heads, cam and intake or a 347 kit I would definitely do the heads, cam and intake. Heads will bolt on more power than any other engine component. More cubic inches will need a better cylinder head to keep up with the increased cylinder volume. Internal combustion engines are nothing more than air pumps. More air in, more air out equals more horsepower.

AMP Performance located in Arizona. I could have built a motor but I was afraid to have a catastrophic failure and not have a warranty. I had a co worker that had built an engine for his 03 Lightning and a few months later his engine blew up on the dyno and he lost nearly 8-10k on the engine. Nothing hurts your pride like that especially if your name is on it.
