Car Runs Like Crap

Hey guys i go some probs i put my car on a code reader and my o2 censor on the right side was really slow so i changed it and i thought that would help it out but it didnt it kind of shakes and acts like something is holding it back so yesterday i took it back and put it back on the reader and no codes so i think it's 1 or both of 2 things the fuel filter is clogged or the converters are pluged up and it will run like ass and you can shut the car off and turn it back on and it will fly for like 30 seconds any help would be appriciated.

if you havent replaced the fuel filter, i would suggest doing it. i just did it and it definitely runs better. youre supposed to do it like every 30000 - 40000

Thumbs up

maybe this will help

hey bud my 94 gt done the same thing runs good for a few minutes when you first crank it up and it skakes alot you say if so change your harmonic balancer or check it first it is the very bottom pulley. if that is what it is and you dont fix it. it will slang a rod the part is about 90.00 bucks but the 94-95 mustangs have been known for that problem.

make sure you dont have any fouled plugs...pull em all and check em and you might put an after market H-X pipe with high flow cat or without cats depending on inspections...if you need one with high flow cat i think 95stangvert might have one laying around p.m. him and see if he has one for sale....also if it is shaking really bad mine also went bad not a hard or expensive fix, time consuming is all.

i saw in another thread that you said that it sat for a year with an empty tank. if there was moisture in the tank, it my have minorly rusted and clogged a line or filter.

ya i changed the fuel filter and that didnt fix it so i'm going to get the converters hollowed out but i really think the fuel line is plugged it kinda sounds like your running out of gas like this morning i was going to school and i matted it and it just like fell on it's face and didnt clime it just bogged down so i think the fuel line may be clogged but i ran a can of sea foam thru it.

I had a similar problem and I changed the fuel filter and it'd run good for 30 seconds then run like crap. As soon as i replaced the fuel pump(which is extremely easy on a sn95 body) the car woke up like crazy. I also made the bad decision of buying a highflow catted h pipe because i thought that I had clogged cats and that was $430. Although it wasn't the problem it did make the car sound real good and add some power. I'd put a new fuel pump in, it sounds like its not holding up to what the motor needs and is also a good upgrade either way. get a 190lph atleast. Good luck too!

Check manifold vacuum at idle & off idle if the readings are low across the board it's likely
the cats are plugged
