Alternator Pulley
ok...so I recently put on my Ud. pulleys and i left the stock Alt. pulley. I read that leaving the stock pulley was a common app in order to get the max voltage. Will i lose alot of voltage with the new pulley? Am i robbing myself of alot of hp without the new pulley?

Keep the stock alternator pulley. The risk of charging problems isn't worth the miniscule gain from using the underdrive pulley. The biggest HP thief is the water pump.

+1.......you dont want to worry about your car not starting everytime you run to the store or something....you wont notice the difference in power....especially if you drive at night alot or if you have an aftermarket amp

since you bought the part i would try it out!!! if you put it on & it has charging issues just take it off in the whole 5 min. that it takes & replace it with the stock pulley. i would defenately put on, drive around town for a few weeks just to see how it does..
every car is different.. i've had friends that put the Alt. pulley on that have never had a problem at all... so i'd say it's definately worth a try for sure! just don't take any long trips until you are sure your car is charging properly still! stay around town where you can always have a buddy jump your car if it dies!! good luck man!

Unfortunately it's not as simple as just swapping pulleys. With the underdrive alternator pulley, you also need a slightly longer drivebelt.

I thought the under drive alt. pulley is smaller so it can spin at the same speed and make the same power as before with the slower accessory speed?
