High Temp
okay guys, this friggin problem has been driving me nuts for about a month now. after about 4 to 5 miles of driving my temp gauge climbs to the "L" on NORMAL. if i have my a/c on, it stays there. if i have my a/c off it drops to about the end of the "M". i have had my radiator rotted out, new end tanks put on, a new overflow reservoir put on, my block power flushed, a new thermostat, a new radiator cap, and nothing seems to help. i also tried burping the system a couple of times. does anyone have any more ideas??????????

heat
I had a similar problem. I ended up getting two thermostats, the first one I bought was crapped out right out of the box. But it sounds like there is air in the system. I have this in my 01 Cobra when I redo the system.

I know this is an old posting, but i gotta tell you I had the same problem and sovled it with a new temp sensor. Darn 5 dollar part. Then about two years later my temp gage would never go over the "N" in "NORMAL". Everything else checked out ok, turned out once again to be the temp sensor. Guess they just don't last very long.

If you try a new temp sensor and that doesnt work, take it to a decent shop and tell them that you want the coolant system vacuumed down. Not to vacuum out the existing coolant, but to vacuum it down to remove all of the air. There is a tool that vacuums down the system and then when you reopen the vacuum valve you can suck fresh coolant right into the system.
