Yeah you got me! Good comeback bro! I could be in a 500hp mustang or a 100hp festiva and I would still hate them, and I would still talk shit.

Its people like you, that deserve less respect than you actually get. We're all in this hobby for the same reasons, or very similar reasons. We all share a similar passion. Talk shit? Grow up man. Talking shit is for 5th graders.

Guess I'm not allowed to voice my opinions about GM's two biggest POS's If they're so f'in great why don't they make them anymore? Why are you talking about them on a mustang forum? So, how 5th grade is it to talk about someone's post count? I've got over 2k on another forum. I wonder how you POS GM guys would treat me if I was on one of your forums

*Goblin asked me a question about my car. I wasn't going to be a dick and ignore him. How about you re-evalute your position because you are making yourself look like a dumbass.

Can we please get back on topic here?
I don't think there's any doubt that the 5.0 has huge potential but at the end of the day, the Chevy LS series engines will always be at least one step ahead with their displacement advantage. To make up the deficit you really have only two choices; either spin the 5.0 to higher rpm and combine it with shorter gearing, or add more displacement (stroker). Reducing vehicle weight will also raise the horsepower/tonne and torque/tonne ratios and make the SN95 more competitive with the Camaro and Firebird. Love them or loathe them, the LS1 Camaro and Firebird really set the bar for low cost muscle car performance with low 13's right out of the box and left the SN95 Mustang (particularly the modular 4.6) trailing in their rear view mirrors. That said, the world of muscle cars can be cruel and it seems ironic that the iconic Stang (the slowest car of the trio) is the only one that still survives as a production model. Perhaps the key to success for a muscle car isn't necessarily having the highest power/weight ratio after all.

I guess you guys havent seen the new camaro thats coming out.....that thing is fing bad ass....and I have to agree this guy is in a mustang forum but i have seen a lot of his post with very good info....he doesnt come on here and start talking about gm products he was asked a question about his car and answered but thats the first post i have seen from him about a gm product...its not really a big deal.... I have a mustang with 347 stroker being done and I also have a chevy duramax diesel with about 700 HP that will out run most stock mustangs...so I like them both .... I dont know why so many people talk shit about this guy being on this forum and not just saying this post have seen other posts where someone says something about it being a mustang forum ... but from what i have seen he has given some good info....we all have the same hobby here whether its ford chevy... or d d. ahem dodge....lol

Flaming stang rude people with adolescent attitudes don't need a voice. I'm a big fan of the LS1 cars. I have owned a mustang ( 94 convertible) and am contemplating buying another one ... but attitudes like this make me want to drive anything else.
the 347 Strokers can have amazing low end torque. and do very well in the 5.0 engine. I would start with Exhaust ( good sounding muffler) as big as you can get. Then add Intake, bigger TB all prepping for when you can add your stroker kit over the winter. would upgrade the suspension on the way to that also. |

It certainly is, and don't forget the new Dodge Challenger as well. Both will have 400+hp engines of more than 6.0L displacement, so the S197 with its "puny" 4.6L and 300hp will need to be seriously pumped up with steroids if it's going to compete. Hopefully Ford will address that when they release the new Mustang model in 2010 but nevertheless, they're gonna have a big fight on their hands to maintain market share in the "pony wars".

5.0 are great motors and have many aftermarket parts for them..they make more for the 5.0 than any other motor ....little bolt ons does bring out alot of power

i'd just like to read the tech section and possibly learn something without hearing comments typical of the clubhouse.

?When my cobra was stock I did a 14.19 (power shifted) on a 99.9% stock car (only mod was a shifter). Let me look for my sheets(long time ago), but my stock cobra dynoed somewhere at around 246rwhp around 12 years ago which definitely means ford underrated the car since they were rated 240bhp from the factory.

Ahhh, I don't have anything left for you guys. I've never been, never will be a fan of any GM product EXCEPT the Grand National and they haven't made them for 21 yrs now. I'll stick with my slow 5.0 knowing that I could easily sink 5k into it and have something faster and cheaper than a stock 20k+ SS or Z28

to continue on the original subject....
what's interesting to me is the fact that today I ran with a 2002 GT that was almost stock (except for exhaust) and the only thing on my 95 is flowmasters and a shifter and I stayed right with him in first and second (he beat me pretty good after that tho). so that makes me wonder about the actual power rating of the 5.0. Were the 99-04 GT's much heavier than the 94-95's? I've heard that the our gen. mustang is extremely heavy compared to others???
