thermostat and fan
Here is an interesting question that I would like to get some opinions on. I have a blk 95 gt convert with a few mods. You know the typical exhaust w/headers, cold air, billet interior stuff, new stayfast top, etc. One of the mods was to change out the 192 degrees thermostat for a cooler 180 degree stat. Most of the time while driving I do notice that the stang is running cooler, however, at the local cruises with stop and go driving, my temp gauge gets pretty high as it did prior to the swap. I am guessing that part of this could be because the fan sensor is not kicking in until after 192 degrees is reached? Is there a fix to make the fan come on sooner? Are there other modifications I should make to the cooling system? Thanks in Advance.
