some issues
hey all im new to this forum but i generally never had a issue with my 95 mustang till now
car was broken into and they stole my radio problem is they tore the outer console out of it(dont know its name but it goes around the radio ac and generallyy covers it all. also ive had a issue with full throttling and what seems like transmission slip essentially what happens is i floor it drops a gear revs to 6k with no acceleration its auto to. is this the torque converter or sometin on the inside of the trans like friction plates? lastly when i bought the car it came with a o/r h pipe full exhaust. can i buy shorty headers for the 95 and hook them up without modding the h-pipe would rather not its all mandrel bent thanks for any help btw this is by far the funnest car ive owned |

Hey man the outer piece that goes there, you have a few options, you can go to a junk yard and get one there are a few bolts that hold it in I think cant remember exactly..
or you can order one off a website or check ebay I'll check my junkyard this weekend might have one for ya, you just pay S&H what color? |

For the radio, some members on here and Stangnet are parting out cars, should be an easy find, still sucks.
For the trany, put it in reverse, does it work flawless, if so, the clutch pack is done and the trans needs rebuilt. Stan |

hey tiller88 dont worry about the radio bezel i checked on craigslist found a guy parting out a 95 and got one for practically nothing also got a few misc parts free to. great guy to fixed some things and found some problems with the car i didnt realize my interior looks pretty complete now just gotta find a decent place to recover the front seats.
has for my transmission i got a quote from a shop ive done business with before for 1400 to rebuild the aode seem high? ive seen some ebay rebuilt trans for 700 but dont think a trans from ebay would be a good idea. they told me forth gear clutch packs out but im thinking its the intire trans it seems alot of power is not being put to the ground at full throttle |

its on aode...without beefing it up...it wont get alot of power to the ground.

suggestion.... buy a new TKO600
a auto-manual swap is not that hard on these cars.

I would think you could find already rebuilt AOD-E's for less than 1400 bucks. You might want to shop around.

ya ive seen some performance rebuilds around the same price i was looking at the tko though most performance types are rated to 600ftlbs of torque after my next deployment and my taxes coming next year along with my bonus im going 347 stroker with a vortech s trim im worried that any mods after that will put me over the limit on torque and ill have to revert back to a aode.
ive noticed something on my trans though after the trans gets to temp this thing shifts hard has hell not like the caddy shift ive read about on the net. performance trans dont need to be heated up before the clutch packs start to catch do they? |
