I have no experience with the BBK manifolds but what I have heard about them is exactly what darrel said. That trick flow manifold is really good for your application from which I am guessing you still have the 302. If you have a 302 based stroker then I would suggest going to the track heat manifold depending on what heads and cam you are using.

Yeah.. You're probably going after the looks!

TFS, Edelbrock & Holley make the best intake manifolds.. better than FRPP

BBK, Professional Products and others only look good...

Thought you should know.. but I have December 2004 issue of 5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords magazine.. page 53 under the title Stage Fight:

Test Car:
'93 Cobra hatchback
306 short block with stock cam, stock computer, stock 24# injectors
Pro-M mass airflow meter
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads 2.02x1.60
1-5/8" full length headers, H-pipe & smog pump eliminator

Results:
With Stock Intake: 233 rwhp @ 4850 rpm, 289 ft.lb @ 3600 rpm
With BBK SSI Intake: 265 rwhp @ 5100 rpm, 296 ft.lb @ 4100

so that's a total of 32 horses at the rear wheels, at a higher RPM band

Quit focusing on peak power. How much power did it lose across the mid range? You can make more peak HP and go slower..... Don't always believe what comes out of magazines either. A wise racer once said "those who don't read automotive magazines are uninformed, those that do read automotive magazines are misinformed".

Read this article and tell me if you still think the BBK intake is better and then tell me why you think that way.

I didn't get it Darell

I didnt say that BBK is better than anything, but the test showed that it's not that bad, ok maybe not bad for high revving cars. Whether or not magazine testemonials are certified, it's something I cant say for certain.

so I scanned through that article.. I'd like you show me please if there's a particular thing that you wanna highlight

I can see that the stock manifold seems to perform better than all those manifolds including BBK-SSI up until 3900 rpm.. I was comparing the output at each RPM band..

I think you wanted to show me that BBK was the weakest in the low & mid power range.. nevertheless, after peak power, it stayed well on lead till 5900 rpm.. of course, there's also the highest cost as another con, and the pre-installed hi-flow fuel rails as a pro.

the GT40 seems to be the best performer throughout the whole range

and personally, I would buy a TFS Street Heat cuz of it's cost and good output. but hey, I got my Mustang and it had a Perfomer 5.0 - it works great for me.

The other intakes out performed the BBK all over. I know a guy locally that got stuck on the BBK hype and lost 2 tenths when he changed from a TFS street heat to a BBK SSI.
