460 swap


does anybody know if the 460 swap kit for the fox body will work in a sn95?

i was thinking the cradles were the same for fox bodies as the ones in the 94-95s

Cradles are the same but there will be clearance issues with the headers. Major reworking needed or custom headers would be in order

are the strut towers the problem or the firewall?

i'd bet on both. you're putting a big ass piece of machinery in a relatively small car, so expect to pull out the cutting torch to make it fit comfortably

a dohc 4.6 is close in width but the height is different right?

no replacement for displacement a bored 460 would just be fun to have

Considering a DOHC 4.6 has the same external dimensions as a 429, I can't imagine that it's unpossible, but it's not a car I'd want to drive - WAY too much weight up front for my taste.

wouldn't be too bad for a straight line race car but it's street manners might leave a little to be desired.

it will work but dont forget you need to convert to manual brakes because the valve cover wont clear the brake boost you will also need to go to manaul steering they make a manaul brake convertion kit in jegs for 159.99
