Looking for better mileage

Most of you guys already now me from my posts and know what I have in/on my stang. For those who don't know here goes.
CAI (fender filter) - Generic but is aluminum and 3.5" with Spectre Air Filter
70mm BBK TB -GT-40 Explorer Intake (really need to port the Elbow and Intake for 70mm is stock currently looks pretty smooth but I think is 65mm inlet on the intake and also I think on the elbow...)
Summit Shortie Headers - BBK o/r X-pipe - Stock cat-back (I know I need to get 2.5 all the way to the rear bumper...or better)
MAC UD Pulleys
Smog is gone with shorter belt
RedLine In Transmission (D4) and 15W50 in the crankcase
Am running my old 15's from my LX I had when I was 16. Can't afford rubber for my 17s right atm...
9mm Ford Racing Plug Wires - MSD Cap/Rotor (is about time for new ones actually0
am currently running (don't laugh or poke fun they are great plugs but) AC Delco rapid fires
What can I do to get better mileage out of my baby? Suggestions for gas saving and also what to put in/on her next.

buy a honda.

haha. there's really not a whole lot you can do to better your mileage... you've already put a bigger basic intake system on (explorer bits...), and more air means more fuel, means worse gas mileage.

a cat back system might help you out a little bit... allowing a bit more exhaust breathing.

just keep shifting at a lower rpm, and don't drive anywhere you really don't have to. for example... i have been getting around 17 mpg driving where i live to and from work and so on... but on this last tank, i forced myself to shift at around 2000 rpm every time (instead of stomping it) and i got almost 23 mpg on the tank! it really makes a difference how you drive

Yeah I try to keep my rpms around 2000, and I also have a vacuum guage that I watch to make sure that I am not in too high of a gear. I try to keep the vacuum somewhere in the ballpark of 10-18 while driving, and it is steady at 21 at idle. I just put some RedLine in the crankcase yesterday and already have D4 in the tranny. I also put a 180 degree high-flow thermostat in today with some water wetter hoping lower temps will help a bit... I was also thinking of getting a fuel pressure regulator with a guage and maybe lowering the pressure a bit to get better mileage out of it... Thanks for the posts and I will post more ideas as they come.

Buy a VW TDI Beetle or TDI Jetta for a DD. My dad gets between 45-52 mpg's in his 01 TDI Beetle depending on traffic and amount of city/hwy driving.

Disclaimer: I only read the thread title and not the posts in here. LOL

check your alignment and tire pressure. two easy things people overlook. keep the air filter clean. new fuel filter. synthetic oil.

synthetic oil is smoother, lets ur pistons move a little more freely..

synthetic oil is refined differently and is usually a bit thinner than regular oil but still offering great friction protection... synthetic oil is great to use in hi perf motors because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to move.

and anyone who has a beetle can blow me. sorry dude.

If your car has alot of miles on it and the O2 sensors haven't been changed I would suggest doing so. Also, change your coolant temp sensor. You'd be surprised at how much mpg's you'd pick up with a new one. I too ran 15w-50 Mobil 1 synthetic for well over 3 yrs. One day walmart was out of the 5 qt gallons so I tried 10w-30 instead. I seem to get better mpg's by running the thinner oil. I'm pulling down around 27mpg hwy/20-21mpg city with my 3.73 geared 95 GT. If you're looking for cheap 17 inch tires check out Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels or Mavis | Discount Tires I bought my 245/45/17 General UHP's off of those 2 sites for around 82 bucks a piece. Best tire I've ever had. They have well over 15k on them now and show little to no wear. They hook great, and handle wet roads far better than any other tire I've ever put on the car. I rotate them every oil change. I know that sounds like over kill but that is one of the many secrets to tire longevity.

u could try some of the oil treatments like px3 and the fitch fuel catalyst. idk if they work in a real world application but they worked on Horspower TV, lol

Thanks for all the post guys all the comments and suggestions are insightful and will/have been taken into consideration. I think that switching back to 17s from 15s and watching my tire pressure along with being properly aligned is the best bet for maintaining/improving my gas mileage. I wish that I could get the gas mileage out of my stang [currently 20-25 mpg] that I can from my Saturn [I get 35-40 miles to the gallon with it ;P]. Don't sound like much more but it adds up, especially when gas is $4 a gal.
