update.... i went to adjust the clutch today, and found that on the cable, there was no nut or any visible way to tighten the cable up, so i scratched that idea and went under to the firewall to see if i could adjust it there, and again, there seemed to be no clear way to tighten the cable up, so what i did was crank down on the position of the pedal (so in essence, putting pressure on the cable) just enough so that the squeaking stopped. so, for now, there's no squeak, but obviously its just a temporary fix.
when i took the cable box cover off, i found that it was actually extremely loose. i could wiggle the bearing fork around very easily without there being any pressure on the cable at all. so, my question is, now that i have essentially tightened the clutch pedal down so that there is a slight amount of pressure on the cable (like i said, just enough pull to stop the squeak), if i tightened it up to much, how will i know? when driving it this afternoon, it def felt like all the power was getting to the ground and there was no apparent slipping. but if i did tighten it up just a tad to much, what might i the consequences be?

if u tightened it to much it would slip, causing alot more clutch wear.. the bearing should just sit on the teeth and not disengage the clutch at all..i know mine felt fine until i hit 5 grand, it would slip from 5-6grand so u might wanna check that...but the fork should be able to move up and down a little , but not from the front to back of the car.. whenever you decide to change the bearing out, you should really invest in a firewall adjuster,it does wonders lol

It's possible that it could be a few things.
Clutch pedal clutch quadrant if you have recently detailed your engine bay "could have gotten some finish on the clutch cable clutch fork could be getting a little noisy worse case, could be your throw out bearing |

it hasn't made the noise since i tightened the cable a few weeks ago... so for now im not worried about it. im sure its certainly the throw out bearing.

i have this same problem and i am going to replace it i was wondering what the best one to use is and if there was a kit or something. also if anyone has a diy for the throw out beraing. i had one other question to my buddies sells car and his mechanic said if im going to replace the bearing i may as well do the clutch i'm at 85k miles(94 cobra) my clutch feels fine to me and has no problems so i cant see spending 400 to fix something that has nothing wrong i was wondering what you guys thought

when you replace the bearing, take the clutch off and take a look at it. that is a good amount of miles for a clutch that is probably getting ripped on..im just assuming its been driven that way... but i bought my throwout bearing from pro-motion when i picked up my tranny. its only one piece but you want to make sure you put some white lithium grease on the face of the bearing.

from what i understand, no... it just gets louder and a bit more annoying. but might as well wait for your clutch to go before you do it. im waiting to replace my whole tranny!
