Upgrades For My 94

Hey, i have a 94 mustang with the 5.0 ho, and i was wondering what you think of these. The only thing on it so far is an flowmaster exhaust, no cats.

70mm Edelbrock Throttle Body
Trick Flow Intake Manifold
bbk fenderwell cold air intake
Pulleys
3.73 Gears

and i was thinking cams,24lb injectors, headers to complete the rest of my exhaust and a computer chip, but im not sure what i would want for those parts yet, so i need to do some more research.

For those upgrade to the engine, and the gears, do you think i would see a decent improvement in power. Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any suggestions into which brands and what not i should get that wold be great!

I think the pulleys and gears are a good idea but before you do the intake and throttle body, I would do headers to complete the exhaust. Cold air is a good thing to do now too.

i have the bbk intake and pulleys and exhaust. dont buy a chip, if you want one, make sure it is a custom burnt chip from a dyno tune. gears are a good idea, too

i'd do your exhaust, gears, lowering springs, upper/lower control arms, subframe connectors, shocks, struts & all the rest of the suspension before you get heavy into engine work! you'll be suprised how much more your stock stang will do with a set up suspension.. you'll be able to get much better traction & put more power to the ground & when you start to get more mods for the engine you'll be able to see the results of your work a lot better! good luck man!

I like your plan! The throttle body won't do much in your current stage but the lower intake is the most restrictive part on the 5.0. Headers are not really a restriction until the heads are upgraded but long tubes will help but short tubes are not worth the hassle at this point. Long tubes are a pain to install and limit the ground clearance a little. Hold off on cam, injectors, and mass air until the heads are upgraded. Do it all at once and get it tuned to get the maximum results and drivability.

Everyone so far has pretty much told you how to get a lot faster with gears and motor parts, but do not for get about brakes. get new slotted or crossdrilled rotors and some good pads. dont get stupid fast and not be able to stop. suspension would help a great deal too.
BTW. BBK makes a crazy looking intake manifold that will out perform trickflows but if you do anyother trickflow parts is better to keep things together I suppose.

the BBK intake is worthless... you can ask anyone on here about those.. darrell will tell you all about it.. trickflow track heat is a way better upper/lower intake..

Id go with the exhaust first because the gears are going to be more than 400 once you add in all the labor and new seals and what not. If you want to do the gears right its going to be around 2 grand. I say 2 grand because once you start modifying you wont stop so why waste the 400 on new gears, seals, and labor when youll eventually have to go back and uprade the axles, diffirential, and cover which is what gets you in the 2,000 price range for everyhting including the gears.

i bought a whole gear kit from ebay. Like $200 and it came with all new bearings and everything. I put it in myself and everything worked out fine. You may need some guidance but the gear swap is not that complicated so...moral of story i was only out 200 bucks and the gears are an awesome advantage.
