What Kind Of Horsepower Am I Running? New Owner

Hi I am new to the site. I just purchased a 94 mustang v-6. The car has been converted to a cobra with front and rear bumper covers and emblems. The motor is a 5.0.Car features:

Powerdyne supercharger
Edelbrock performer upper and lower intake manifold
Steeda 18 cam
GT-40 heads
MSD Ignition
All forged bottom end
BBK headers
3:73 rear end
H pipe with 2 chamber flowmasters
Speedbrain (laptop programmable computer system)
World Class T-5 Manual Transmission
New Ford Motorsport King Cobra clutch
Short throw shifter
Autometer guages with pillar
Ford Cobra front and rear bumpers with emblems
New 18x10, 18x8 Ruff racing wheels with new Toyo T1R tires

Question.. What kind of horsepower am I looking at here? I have only owned one other mustang and it was an 82 gt with a 351W out of a state trooper car built with FMS parts. Thanks for your time guys and gals.

My guess is around 370 or so depending on if the heads are iron or alums. and what are we talking boost 6lbs? With that HCI set up its typical to see 280 RWH + - then ad your blower and boost numbers should be somewhere in that area. Put it n a dyno then youll know for suure.

350 to 370 depending on cam specs and tune. Should be a pretty healthy engine.

wow i figured it would be more. The guy I got it from said anywhere from 350 and 400 hp on motor alone. and way over 400 with the charger. But i guess the only thing to do is dyno and know for sure. anyone know anything about the superbrain computer system?

I should have clarified things. I was speaking rear wheel horsepower because I have seen several combinations similar to this make 350-370 at the wheels. At the engine it could be 350 or so on motor alone.

ahhh i see. I am new to the whole supercharger thing. All I have every had in hot rods is all motor and nothing else. I also have a 1994 corvette that I drive. So I am curious as to how this whole thing will do. I have a 98 true cobra 4.6v on my car lot and that thing will haul ass. So I am waiting to see what this thing will do. Also how does the speedbrain computer work?

Ok I went last night to Mcdonough Georgia and got the car. At 85 it has a bad vibration in the shifter but goes away as you slow down. could it be the tires/ it is running 285/35/18 on the rear. That thing will run like a raped ape. lol

Do you have an aftermarket shifter? If so you might have to eplace the little plastic bushing where the bottom of the shifter sits in. Also check your balancer, u-joints and driveshaft. good luck

Sounds like a tire out of balance...

What is the rating on the tires?

well had tires balanced and it is not them. not in the transmission. I am thinking it is in the drive shaft. Does anyone have an aluminum one they wanna sell or know where they are sold at? Also is the v6 and v8 starter the same or different? I still have the 6 on mine and it sounds like an old chevy does when the starter needs to be shimmed.

yeah i looked and they are 235 there. I am bidding on one on ebay right now. I also shimmed the starter up and it sounds 100% better. Now the biggest thing is the valve train noise. I had a guy listen to it and he thinks it may be the push rods too short or too long. Any idea if it could be anything else? Maybe loose rockers or wrong springs?

Your speed brain is wrong. You aren't making that much horsepower at that low of an rpm. A dyno is the only accurate way to measure horsepower.

I have your engine at about 340 crank HP (300rwhp) naturally-aspirated, and at about 460 crank HP (400rwhp) with 8psi from your Powerdyne.
