Air Pump Squeeking 95 GT

Does anyone know what to do about a squeeking airpump on a 95 GT. It only does this on start up, but once the engine warms up it stops most of the time. Is there a rebuild kit or should I get a remanufactured one? Or should I be looking at something else? thanks

Try oiling it maybe...

You can always just replace it with a remaned one from Autozone...

I've had my share of crappy Autozone parts, but may give it a try. Does the airpump have anything to do with helping performance, if so, who makes one that does better than the stock one? I will also try shooting it with some oil. Pics coming soon thanks.

I dont think the air pump has anything to do with performance...It is parasitic on the motor...Not really much you can do about that unless you just delete it...

ChrisJ, how would one go about deleting the airpump? Is there an after market peice that replaces the pump or can it just be removed and a shorter belt used?

I would just get rid of it and go buy a new shorter belt...

just delete it..you might need a bracket to go in its place, check and see if you get a shorter belt it might not work, like on mine if i were to simply use a shorter belt my belt tensioner would not be functional.
