Very Confused... please help.


I have a '95 GT and the power seat and the cigg. lighter both don't work and they are both run off the same fuse so my first and really only guess would be that fuse. but its not. i changed the fuse and still nothing. what am i missing here? thanks in advance.

yeah they are on the same fuse. Did you check the fuses under the hood in the Power distribution box?

yeah the the only fuse for them is under the hood and its good.

Is there power to the fuse? The fuse should have a small slot on each side that you can probe with a test light. Take a test light and probe the slots of the fuse. You should have power at both terminals. If not the fuse is bad. If there is no power at either terminal then you obviously have no power at the fuse and the problem is between the fuse and the power source. If there is power at both terminals then the problem is between the fuse and the accessories. Could be a broken wire, bad ground, bad relay, etc. Isn't the power seat on a circuit breaker or is that just the windows. I can't remember...

is it possible a relay could blow? if so which one?

It is possible. Before anything you need to isolate the problem which doing what I said in the above post is a good place to start.

ok i fixed it. It was a fuse but not the one stated in the shop manual that runs the power seat. weird. but whatever im happy, now it works.
