Accessory light problem

When driving around at night with my lights on, sometimes the accessory lights will just shut off...I can't see my gauges or anything. But when I turn the headlights off and back on quick, the accessory lights all come back on as normal. Its not a huge issue, but I'd still like to know why it does it and how I can fix it. Short? Any ideas?

Sounds like a short to me. I'd be checking the wires to your headlight switch. IIRC, our cars have had problems with the switch. I've been lucky I guess.

you think the headlight switch itself might be bad? i was kinda thinking short too, but didn't really know where to start looking.

I'm not saying I'm 100% sure it's your headlight switch, just saying it's possible. I've read other threads on a different forums that guys have had problems with their headlight switch. Just a thought...hoping to give you some ideas/direction Good luck
