Shifter Help


I just got a new shif knob and my old shif knob seems to be striped and cant seem to get it off it just keeps re threading its self around the shifter any suggestions on how i can get it off would help

well if its stripped i don't think you'd have a problem getting it off - i guess i would say just spin it like hell and lift up on it and the same time. is it an aftermarket shift knob on there already? if so it could have one of those stupid plastic adaptors on it and you'll just have to tug it off any way you can. also look for a set screw if its some off brand aftermarket knob on there already...

dont know if its after market but when i turn the knob to the left to come off it goes nowhere it just resets its self and stays in the same spot but i will try to rip the bitch off

thanks for the help stroker i figuered out how to get it off after an hour of breaking it. It was one of those knobs held on by screws inside the shifter it messed up my thread on the shifter its self but it works

you may want to spin a die around the knob before putting your new shifter on... just so you don't screw up the threads again.
