Building the Rear

So, I have started going to the track and I REALLY like it. But I am afraid that I might break the rear end and since this is my daily driver I cant really have that happening. So what all goes into a 31 spline conversion? Links are more than welcome. Is it worth it for the mild setup I have? the only small things im adding next are suspension and DR's.

Even with drag radials you aren't making enough power to break your rear. Just keep going and having fun. Down the road when you have alot more hp and a better rearend you'll have cat like reflexes and pull down .000 reaction times from all the practice.

i was told not to worry about my rear till i was cutting 1.5-1.6 60fts. when the time comes to upgrade, gears axles and a new LSD. do it all at once, if you have a shop do it, it SHOULD cost the same for labor since everything they're pulling out is going back in, just with NEW stuff... atleast thats the way it is at the shops i looked at here. they will charge the same for all that, as they will for just changing my rear gears out.

Axles are tricky, I've seen cars come into my dads shop that broke the stock 28 spline with 315 series street tires. I however am still running my stock axles in my 02 and launching hard with DR's.
