Cold Start Running Problems

When it is cold outside I have noticed that I am getting a sputter and sometime even a backfire, sounds like it maybe coming from EGR. I have a brand new hose from my header to the egr and know it isn't leaking obviously, but I can't pin the problem. I believe that it is needing a fine adjustment on the IAC and the TPS [as much as possible on it]. I have reset the base idle and tweaked it out quite a bit since my mods, but the sputter and backfire [pre-ignition I am thinking] still happens. It only does it like once and then I am guessing that it warms up enough to correct itself, but I would like to get it fixed before it gets colder because it may get worse. Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

possible throttle body adjustment...might want to get it tuned man. mine is running great warm, but is kinda missing and bouncing around rpm's when cold. its in the shop getting tuned (kinda tough to cold tune a car because you only get a couple shots a day at it) and he thinks he just needs to get the throttle body opened up the right amount.

A bad EGR valve will definitely cause a backfire. I deleted my EGR and had it deleted in the tune so the check engine light wouldn't be on. Another thing you might want to check is the MAF sensor. Have you cleaned it yet? Do you know for sure that it's good? Napa and Advance auto sells MAF cleaner made by CRC. Spray it good and allow it to dry before reinstalling it. If you're still running your stock IAC you may want to consider replacing that as well.
